A little over a year ago I went to the Winnipeg Folk Festival with Dave and his family. It was a great day, and it culminated with us all sitting in the grass getting our minds blown by Andrew Bird. He plays about 2 million different instruments, finger picks a violin before bowing the shit out of it, and records loops for each song live in concert. Also, have you ever heard a man whistle like this? Only in your dreams.
After a lengthy philosophical discussion Dave and I decided that this live version of Tenuousness best illustrates all the above mentioned talents, but if you need a good song for your next run and you are ready to be pumped up by the sweet sounds of strings, listen to this. And if you are as big a Yo Yo Ma fan as I am, listen to this. And if you’re not a Yo Yo Ma fan you can go straight back to hell where you came from.
